About

Hi there! Welcome to Anecrit. If you've landed here, you've likely explored some of my content, so you might already have an idea of what I write about
First, who am I?
My name is Benhalima Othmane, and I'm a PGY4 resident in anesthesiology and critical care medicine from Algeria, a North African country and the largest on the continent.

What's anecrit?
When I first started Anecrit, I considered making it just another medical blog. But after a lot of reflection, I realized my vision was different. Anecrit is essentially my personal knowledge base – imagine my Obsidian or Notion notes, but in a public website format! This way, I can share what I'm learning, and critically, open myself up to feedback and learning from others. Having this public knowledge base also keeps me incredibly disciplined, motivating me to constantly read, learn, and create high-quality content.
If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough. Albert Einstein
The newsletter
The newsletter is designed to help both you and me stay updated and current in our ever-evolving and rapidly shifting domain. Primarily, it serves as my personal curated list of the most relevant papers published each week. This allows me to review them in one sitting, select what to read in the coming days, and add to my reading waitlist. I make an effort to track all relevant journals, not just the most well-known ones. Since I'm already doing this work for myself, sharing it seems natural, and it further motivates me to stay disciplined with this daily review, rather than just doing it when I feel motivated.
So, if what I'm doing resonates with you, please consider subscribing to my website and newsletter. Feel free to share it with others who might benefit. Ultimately, my hope is to build a growing community where we can all discuss and learn from each other.
